Meet Wammawink! Formerly known as Baby Girl, Wammawink's namesake comes from a character in the TV show Centaurworld. Through the show, she affectionately refers to the protagonist as "Baby Girl" in a very distinctive way. Upon learning our intake's name, we immediately thought of Wammawink and how she expressively says "Baby Girl." It was just meant to be.
Wamma Mamma is a petite girl with super soft purrs and a barely audible meow. While she prefers to keep all four on the floor, she does fancy napping next to you if not occasionally on your lap. She enjoys a good cushioned chair or plush pet bed, and she becomes very excited about treats. If you are looking for a calm, low-maintenance, and adorable feline friend then Wammawink may just be your girl!
Wammawink currently shares her cat room with fellow senior, Boris. While she is not interested in playing with other cats, she does acclimate to new felines quickly. So long as they are respectful of her older lady ways, Wamma would do well in a home with another cat or two.
Being that she is a senior, older and gentle children would be best. While she may do well with an older, cat-savvy dog, Wammawink would thrive more so in a calm, quiet environment, thus puppies and rowdy dogs are not a good fit.
While Ms. Wamma still navigates her environment well, she is slowing down and showing hind end weakness, which is very common in older pets. Cat beds, perches, and other spaces dedicated to her use should be lower to the ground and easy to climb onto. Joint supplements may be beneficial, but always check with your veterinarian if you have any questions. An age-appropriate diet is highly recommended to ensure she is receiving the nutrients she needs to thrive as an older lady.
While they can certainly be adopted separately, Boris and Wammawink are excellent candidates for being adopted together.

Meet Boris! This kind old fella is ready to find the purrfect retirement home! Estimated to be between 14 and 15 years old, Boris is a happy guy who speaks his mind and provides impactful head bumps.
Since he came to FTLOA, he has been put on a diet to help him progress towards a more healthy weight. He was given a clean bill of health by our veterinarian and he is up-to-date on his vaccines. Boris is microchipped and FeLV/FIV negative.
Boris originally came from a home with small children, and he does very well with kids. While he was nervous for the first few days, he acclimated quickly and has proven to be very friendly. He is frequently found snoozing in his cat bed by the window or curled up in his blanket brought from his original home. When not napping, Boris adores playing with toys (especially at night), getting brushed, and snuggling next to you.
While Boris has been with us, he has been introduced to several cats, and he currently lives with our other senior, Wammawink. Boris has shown a preference for a female feline companion and tends to dislike other males. Being an older gent, the energy of a kitten may not be the best for him, but if they were a more gentle player and female it could be an adorable match!
Boris is scared of dogs and will not be adopted to a family with canine companionship.
While they can certainly be adopted separately, Boris and Wammawink are excellent candidates for being adopted together.

Meet Ula! This beautiful tortie has settled well into her new indoor lifestyle. Feral for over two years with an unknown history, it can understandably take Ula time to warm up. When she does, Ula can be very affectionate. She enjoys napping right beside you or in your lap, and will politely request attention when desired.
Ula does maintain stricter boundaries, and it's important to understand that her relationship to people is very different than cats raised around humans from kittens. With patience, respect, and kindness, Ula will thrive, and she will make a wonderful companion for the right person.
Due to her history, we will not adopt Ula to a household with young children, as her corrections could injure and scare them. Being a tortie, she indeed possesses the famous "tortitude." Ula does not like dogs and she will not tolerate sharing her space with another cat.

Ula loves Temptations cat treats and her "babies" (aka stuffed animals). While she's not a fan of cat nip, she does enjoy rubbing all over cat nip filled toys. Ula also enjoys chasing after little mouse toys thrown for her.

Meet Havok! This handsome pup is currently residing with a foster while seeking his furever home. Havok is used to living with another dog (female) and has shown submissive behavior when meeting new dogs. With proper introductions, he will likely do well and enjoy a canine companion. When it comes to people, Havok has lived with adults and seniors only. He has shown no preference between men and women.

His foster reports that he is a more vocal dog. He chuffs and barks when excited, and he does sound the alarm when there is a knock at the door or strangers walk by. Due to his separation anxiety, Havok would prefer a home where he can be around his family more often than not.

Due to his large size and having never been around kids before, we do not recommend he go to a home with young children. Older children may be fine. Havok does have a history of going after chickens, and with his high prey-drive he cannot live with cats or smaller free-roaming pets.
