About Fur the Love of Animals

Founded in June of 2024, Fur the Love of Animals (FLOA) is a small home-based animal rescue located in southern Vermont with a special focus on cats. Registered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donations may be tax-deductible.

We are guided by the belief that every animal deserves to be loved, and we are dedicated to providing high quality care to the abandoned, neglected and abused, orphaned, lost, and/or stray animals of our community. We also collaborate with local animal welfare organizations to provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) services to Windham County in an effort to support community cats.

We provide rescue, adoption, surrender support, and foster care services, and all animals welcomed to our facility are guaranteed lifelong sanctuary.

As we are in our infancy, we have a very small facility. This means that we are limited in the number of animals we can support on-site. We are also forced to be selective in the species we intake—so, until resources allow, we will be unable to care for dogs.

Our facility and office are based out of our founder's personal home with the intention of giving rescues and fosters a home-styled experience.

We offer a wide range of professional pet care services for cats, dogs, pocket pets, and exotics. Fees collected from pet care services help to fund our programs.

At this time we are not state funded and rely greatly upon monetary and in-kind donations from our supporters to provide care to our animal rescues and temporary fosters.
